Day 38

All the work was too high to see today.

Shingles are on and it ties into the rest of the roof nicely.

Tomorrow, the electrician comes.

Day 37

Today, got it water tight. Which is good because rain is due tomorrow.

Passed another inspection.

Also, filled in the dirt around the foundation.

Ripped down the old exterior siding.

Scout can hardly wait until it's done

so she can shed dog hair all over everything.

Now that the dirt has been backfilled,

the tractor is out and sitting on my driveway.

We have a roof!

Was very excited to come home and discover they've started on the roof.

The downside: When Scout barks to come in,

it echoes so loud you can hear it all through the neighborhood.

Finally - we're underway again!

Today the truss arrived and was hoisted up.

I'm glad to see some progress again.

Tic-Toc Tic-Tic

And now....we wait.

Work has gone as far as it can until the joist is completed.

Next day of work will be Monday, October 24.

So much progress!

Really getting a sense of the room now.

Now here we are at the weekend, which is supposed to be rainy :(

The Beginning of Walls

Wasn't sure quite what to expect when we got home tonight.

Looks like an action shot of Scout and Darling Daughter

It's a bird...it's a plane...it's a FLOOR!

Scout is thrilled she can go outside via the patio door again,

instead of the garage door.

It will be short-lived.

Day Twenty - Floor Joists!

Scout found this VERY challenging.

Day Nineteen - We have a Foundation!

It's starting look like something recognizable.

Builder has strewn straw around - sure has helped in regards to mud.

And muddy doggy footprints.

Ok, maybe it's no longer so exciting for Scout.

Day Seventeen

Scout has discovered she can walk the perimeter

on top of the new foundation.

One long rainy week later...

It rained, it poured, it became a mud pit.

Which the dog carried in to the house on an almost hourly basis.

Plus, the builder took off on a long weekend hunting trip.
Hence, no activity for almost a week.

Foundation was finally poured.

The rain and mud made the forms slip a bit so it was a bit messy.

Now it will cure over the weekend.
