Painting the Trim

We're almost at the end of the project!

The new floor is in.

Wow.

It looks a whole lot more colorful than I remember from the little swatch!

I'm still looking at it with a critical eye and I'm not so sure.

But I really did love the swatch so I think it's just a matter of getting used to it.

It was 1970 white vinyl before.

I look forward to getting furniture in the rooms.  

Tomorrow the baseboard, window and door trims go in 

and then this addition is finished!

Next step - Christmas tree!

Electrical in

BEFORE:

The green paint that changes color depending on the time of day.

I've wanted to change this color since I moved in.

Kitchen AFTER

It looks like a lemony yellow but it's really not that bright.

The color is CORNMEAL.

The Blue Room

When I picked out this paint color, it looked more grey than blue. It's called Ozone.

I'm pleased with it - I love blue.

Day 54: Primer!

Not only did the walls and ceiling get primered today,

but the new end window is in,

and the cut-out over my kitchen sink.

I love it!

Looking at kitchen from the other side...

Day 45 - Wallboard

The blue and white box is a new exhaust fan to be installed in the bathroom.

Day 41 - Insulation

Some of the rain gutters are on.

Day 39

Today's Progress:

Electrician was in and ran wire, installed boxes.

This is where the main light switches will be,

and lower down, where the heater will be.

This is one of four can lights in the ceiling.

The best part - two windows are in!

Now we wait for the next inspection.

Day 38

All the work was too high to see today.

Shingles are on and it ties into the rest of the roof nicely.

Tomorrow, the electrician comes.

Day 37

Today, got it water tight. Which is good because rain is due tomorrow.

Passed another inspection.

Also, filled in the dirt around the foundation.

Ripped down the old exterior siding.

Scout can hardly wait until it's done

so she can shed dog hair all over everything.

Now that the dirt has been backfilled,

the tractor is out and sitting on my driveway.
